THE BATHERS

Ana Jovanovska through the work The Bathers will ironically try to take us back, to a never-forgotten, but longgone beach, which generations still remember with joy and nostalgia, with the intention of a seemingly childish and naive way to make a connection between the past and the present, with the main goal – realizing the wishes for a utopian and idyllic future. As she will correctly say: ‘The ironic thing is that what was before seems to offer us no less than now, so the future reimagines the past. Even though the work is called The Bathers, it is obvious that they are absent – they are all bathing in the river Vardar! The river flow is clean and usable again!
